Parrsboro Open Recap

For the third time my my last 4 events I held the lead heading into the final round and finished in second place. It just so happened to be the same guy that edged me at Amherst last month, Kevin Dugas. I opened the Parrsboro open with a tournament low 62 (-4) that include 9 birdies and two balls out of bounds on the front nine. I help a 3 shot lead in the pro division over Dugas and Todd Bishop heading into the final round. On Sunday the Parrsboro Golf Club showed it's teeth as winds blew up to 50km at times. It was fair to say I lost the battle between the course and myself on Sunday as I struggled to convert putts and shot 73 to finish runner-up for the second straight year to Dugas. Kevin Shot rounds of 65-67 and was the only player to break 70 in the tough conditions on Sunday. I earned $700 for second place but it sure would have been nice to collect the winning $1200 check.

For anyone looking for a fun weekend on a fun, quirky golf course with a million dollar view, I recommend playing this tournament!

This marks the end of my season for tournaments but I plan to continue to work on my game and hope my big break comes along and I will be able to play full time again.

Thanks again for every ones continued support!
