Update

I would like to thank everyone once again for all their support. Many of you may not know this but for the past couple of months I have been struggling to get by. I have made numerous sacrifices just to keep my head above water just to have enough money to pay travel expenses for my events and to even put food on the table daily. Thank god for 20 cent noodles and PB&J's! I have come to the point I have no choice but to head home after my next eGolf event on May 4-7. I have exercised all possibilities and financially I just don't have the money to stay any longer. I will have to withdraw from my eGolf event at the end of May and use the money to pay for my expenses for my eGolf event next week and to get me home. I did plan on coming home for the summer but I did not want it to be this early.

This is not the end of my professional career, it is just some time away to get my finances in place so I can continue to follow my dream this fall. I will come home to work until the end of August to get caught up on bills and secure funding for the fall eGolf events and PGA Tour qualifying school which starts in September when I have to play in a 72 hole pre-qualifier. I feel like my game has improved quite a bit since turning pro and I have been able to gain a lot of great experience. I have received many compliments about my golf game and have been told I have what it takes to make it on the PGA Tour and once I get there I have the qualities to win and be dominant. With words like that from a former Nationwide and PGA tour player meant a lot to me. That has really increased my motivation to make it on tour. I feel like the first 6 months have been successful and I have got my feet wet and I am on the right track to achieve my 5 year goal of having status on the PGA Tour.

I am going to do some brainstorming on my route home on ways to raise money for the fall and next year. I truly believe that If I can raise enough money to take care of expenses I will have some security and will be able to play better golf and not be stressed about my financial situation at events. The past couple months have been tough and even tougher to play good golf with all the pressure on my back. My best option right now is to come home and earn some money, raise some money, and spend time with my family. Some time off will do me some good and I look forward to getting caught up with all my friends at Glen Lovat and Abercrombie throughout the summer.

See you all soon!

Nationwide Qualifier on Monday

My family has hit the road back to Nova Scotia after 11 days here in Myrtle Beach. It was great to see my parents, wife, and daughter and spend some time relaxing time with them to get my mind off of things. I spent the past week hanging out with my family and played a few rounds with my father while the girls caught some rays by the pool.

I found my game again this week and I am very excited to play in the Monday qualifier for the Nationwide Tours South Georgia Classic. It is an 18 hole qualifier that is played at two different courses that will exempt 7 players from each course into the tournament. So a total of 14 exemptions will be given out to the 300 players trying to qualify. Which means its time to go out give it all I have and hope its good enough to qualify. This is my first Nationwide qualifier so I looking forward to gaining the experience and taking a shot at the next level.

To see results click here -> I am playing Doublegate CC

Failed to qualify today. I played a really solid round of golf though and played 16 holes at 2 under and easily could have been 5 or 6 under had a few putts fell in. I ended up shooting 76 because I had a double and a quad on par 3's. It was 95 degrees here today and I was extremely hot so I decided to hit a couple in the pond to cool off.. 66 ended up being the number to qualify today.

Missed cut this week in Southport, NC

I missed the cut in this weeks eGolf event shooting rounds of 76-75 and missed it by 4 shots. I struggled to play the par 5's well this week and it ended up costing me. On a positive note I putted great and gained a lot of confidence in my short game. I had just 27 putts yesterday and 24 putts today. This is a huge confidence boost because I rolled the ball great and saw lots of putts fall in. I had a good chance to make the cut today but I just couldn't keep anything going. Also didn't help that I woke up this morning with a bug and was sick the entire round and it was a struggle just to finish the round. If it wasn't for my father on my bag there was no way I would have had the energy to finish the round. I will not play again until May 4-7 because I withdrew from next weeks event to take some time off and spend it with my parents, wife, and daughter. It is well needed time off because I have been struggling lately and need some time to regroup and enjoy time with my family.

I will be playing in a Nationwide Tour qualifier on Monday April 25th in Valdosta, Georgia for the South Georgia Classic so I will make sure to keep everyone posted.
